Getting started
A site, the tag, and someone to read it — the whole first hour.
Three things stand between a new account and a dashboard that tells you something: a site, the tag, and someone to read it. The setup wizard walks all three, and every one of them is skippable — nothing here is a gate.
1. Create a site
A site is one public hostname, entered bare: example.com, not https://example.com and not www.example.com. The time zone you pick decides where a day starts, which is what every daily number in your reports is counted against — set it to the time zone you think in.
2. Install the tag
One script line in your page head. Pageviews appear within seconds; the site card says "Waiting for the first event" until one arrives, then switches to "Receiving".
3. Invite the people who will act on it
Measurement nobody reads changes nothing. Inviting sends mail from our servers on your behalf, so it waits until you have confirmed your own email address.
